Product detailed description

When to Use a Sleep Mask

If you struggle to fall asleep, it might be due to poor sleeping conditions. A satin sleep mask is perfect for:

  • Blocking light: If you don’t have blackout curtains or blinds, early morning light in summer can wake you up. A sleep mask ensures total darkness, promoting deeper and more restful sleep.
  • Travel: Whether you’re camping, staying in a hotel, or traveling overnight by train, plane, or bus, a satin sleep mask will shield you from disturbing lights.
  • Hospitals: Expecting surgery or giving birth? Hospital lighting is often bright even at night—this mask will help you sleep comfortably.
  • Shared spaces: Does your partner get up earlier than you? Or are you living in a dorm with someone on a different schedule? A sleep mask will help you sleep undisturbed.

What Is Satin?

Satin is a fabric known for its glossy surface and smooth texture. It can be made from various materials, most commonly silk, polyester, or nylon. Thanks to its unique weave, satin has a shiny side and a matte underside.

Why Mulberry Silk Is the Best Satin

Mulberry silk is considered the finest type of silk in the world. It comes from silkworms that are fed exclusively with mulberry leaves. This specific diet results in fibers that are extremely strong, soft, and consistent.

Silk is:

  • naturally hypoallergenic, meaning it is less likely to cause allergic reactions or skin irritation
  • highly breathable, allowing your skin to breathe freely
  • known for its durability and long lifespan. With proper care, it can last for years without losing quality.

How to Wash a Satin Sleep Mask

We recommend hand washing or using a delicate cycle in the washing machine (in a laundry bag).

  1. Fill a sink or bowl with lukewarm water (around 30 °C).
  2. Use a gentle detergent suitable for silk or delicate fabrics.
  3. Submerge the mask and gently agitate it. Avoid rubbing or wringing to prevent fiber damage.
  4. Rinse thoroughly in clean lukewarm water to remove all detergent residue.

How to Dry a Sleep Mask After Washing

Place the mask on a dry towel and roll it up to absorb excess water. Then lay it flat on a clean towel and let it air dry. Avoid direct sunlight, which can fade the colors and damage the fabric.

The Czech company nanoSPACE has been operating on the market since 2012 and focuses primarily on products where nanofiber textiles are used. In 2012, it became the first manufacturer to use a nanofibrous membrane in barrier covers for allergy sufferers. Since then, it has expanded its portfolio to include nano duvets and nano pillows, which are especially suitable for people with dust allergies.

In 2016, it was the first in the world to present functional bed linen that can fully replace barrier coatings. This product line, which bears the name Nanocotton®, was able to combine the functionality of the material with organic cotton and is suitable not only for allergy sufferers, but also for atopic patients.

During the coronavirus epidemic in 2020, nanoSPACE used its long-term knowledge in the field of nanofiber materials and started the production of anti-virus neck gaiters  and protective masks made of nanofiber. From 2021, it also produces designer washable nano masks.

In 2021, the nanoSPACE company founded the subsidiary nanoSPACE Technology, which is dedicated to development, research and innovation in the field of nanofiber textiles.
